The aim of the access card system is to allow only those who are allowed to be their access to a building or office. For many years, the deadbolt lock and its accompanying brass key were the gold standards in access control; however, modern companies demand more. They want to be able to control who comes in and out of their doors, but they also want to be able to track and manage access. Computer-based electronic access control systems have taken over the keys, providing easy and convenient access to approved individuals while refusing access to unauthorized individuals. We now hold access cards or ID badges instead of keys to gain access to protected areas.
